COOP. “MADONNA DEL RIMEDIO”

The cooperative “Madonna del rimedio” was established in 1969 in Nule (Sassari) thanks to the love for weaving of a group of local craftswomen.
It started as mainly related to the local market, later the cooperative began the ISOLA Pilot Centre to meet the demand from all around Sardinia and to preserve and give value to the beauty and the typicality of local productions.
The prestigious and valuable carpets of Nule are produced in the laboratory, located in the city centre, thanks to the skilled and patient work of the weavers, who use the typical vertical hand-loom. These carpets are famous and sold all over Sardinia.
Beside the use od traditional drawings, fiamma, fressada, pintura sighida, the carpets also reproduce the drawings of the famous sardinian architect Eugenio Tavolata. The starting material is sardinian wool.
The carpet can be custom-made, for instance with different colours.
Adjacent to the textile factory there is a show-room wherein the precious and artistic textiles can be seen and bought.
The Nule carpets can be used as bedside rugs, runners, tapestries.
