Smith workshop of Antonio Maria Scanu

The smith activity started in 1947 thanks to the work of the owner’s father, which use to work iron in a small laboratory, creating from his own intelligence real pieces of art.
The iron woking art has been handed down from father to son and, at the end of the 80’s, the smith workshop became a smith art laboratory where each piece of forniture, each gate and each railing is entirely hand-made.
The drawing is created trying to join the aesthetic needs of the customer and the funcionality and sobriety, thanks to the typically faint shapes and lines of wrought iron, when put in house contexts, which allow to customize them and make them unique.
Today in the “Laboratorio d’arte fabbrile Scanu” iron is processed by using all the state-of-art technologies, but without giving up the inventiveness and the special pleasure of seeing those artistic shapes coming out from the own hands, which become a unique piece of art, entirely designed and hand-made thanks to the taste and the awareness which renders a piece of art unique, and, therefore sign of culture and expression of life and tradition culture.
Beside classic or modern reilings, fences and piece of furniture, the“Laboratorio d’arte fabbrile Scanu” is specialized in restoring, mainly of roofs and balconies.
